Increased sightings causing concern

Coyotes are usually rarely seen in the daytime or even near places where humans live. However, there has been an increase in sightings all over the United States. Things like urbanization contribute to the coyotes moving closer and closer to humans. Some residents in a town near El Paso have seen multiple coyotes in the past few weeks, with some coming out in the daytime near parks where children and small pets are.

A coyote bit a man in a Texas neighborhood, causing increased concern amongst residents. The man was working underneath his car when he felt something bite down on his foot. Upon further inspection, he saw that it had been a coyote that had bitten down onto his foot. This was the first report in the area of someone actually being bitten by a coyote.

Coyote sightings in residential areas raising concerns

Residents near Chuck Henrich Memorial Park in Northeast El Paso are concerned about the multiple coyote sightings happening in their area. Some residents say they have seen coyotes come down while people are out with their pets and children at the park.

One woman sent a photo of her dog who was attacked by a coyote in her own backyard. “I seen maybe two weeks ago I saw a pack of four, I was running at 6:00 in the morning,” Ricardo Adame said. via KTSM

Coyote bites man in Teravista neighborhood
